2021: A Great Start for the Newfoundland and Labrador Real Estate Industry!
While the number of active listings decreased in January 2021 (3,451) compared to January 2020 (2,674) - sales soared! The average home listing prices saw an increase, too! According to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and statistics provided by the Newfoundland & Labrador Association of Realtors (NLAR).
In January 2020, we saw a total of 149 property sales, compared to January 2021, where sales nearly doubled to 254. Comparing 2020 to 2021, the average price of units increased by 5.6%:
